Pacquiao is the True Pound For Pound King
Before anything else, I just want to post the update on the rank of my MMA Pound For Pound entry. It is currently occupying the 25th spot and according to Google Webmaster Tools, it only have 2 backlinks as of this writing. Ok, there it goes, I hope it could climb the stairs in the coming days.
After the brouhaha in the Pacquiao-Mayweather negotiations, all fingers point to Mayweather as the one to blame in the downfall of the talks. He insisted on the Olympic-style random drug testing which the camp of Pacquiao rejected.
Many obervers however think that the act of Mayweather was only to escape from a possible fight against Pacquiao. That event however, only cemented the position of Pacquiao as boxing's pound for pound king. It can be remembered that ESPN ranked Mayweather as the number 1 pound for pound after he beat the much smaller Juan Mannuel Marquez in his comeback fight. But the cowardly act of Mayweather did more damage than good in his reputation as a boxer.
In fact, as of this writing, Mayweather hasn't signed yet the contract for the Mosley fight, which transpired after the cancellation of the Berto-Mosley fight. After ducking Pacquiao, Mayweather is again trying to find ways to duck Mosley. Now, should Mayweather still be in the pound for pound list? For a ducker like him has no right to be in the top ten best fighters in the sport.
He better resign again and run like chicken from true competition. Pacquiao is indeed, the pound for pound king.
Pacquiao will next face Joshua Clottey for on March 13 at the Cowboys Stadium.

Why I am Using this Site For MMA Pound For Pound?
A friend of mine is so concerned why am I using this site for the latest SEO contest - the MMA Pound For Pound contest. This site has been used by me in the previous contest for "oes tsetnoc" and this placed in the top 20. So my entry is under this blog and I have submitted only a page for the new contest.
This is again part of my experiment. I'll try to rank in the SERP with a static page against the blogs of other participants. I am wondering how those pages in Wikipedia rank higher than some blogs in internet today. Those pages anyway comes with a lot of backlinks and the domain itself has "high authority" in those niches. Heavy links from other pages of the domain is also one of the considerations there.
So in my future posts here, I will be linking to my official entry for the MMA Pound For Pound contest.

MMA Pound For Pound
Ok, here we go again! After "oes tsetnoc" it's now "mma pound for pound". We will be battling again in the SEO battlefield and I see a lot of participants in the previous seo contest who are now again in this contest. As I check the rankings, only three so far has managed to the page one of the SERPs.
This is so since the keyword "mma pound for pound" is already optimized by sites that are not included in this contest; and they are real mma sites and not like this one that is intended only for the contest. That's one hurdle that contestants must pass - to overtake the old mma sites in the SERPs.
As you can see, this is the domain I used in the previous contest, and as a beginner, I was happy that this site barged into the top 20 finishers of the contest. Although I was not able to see the exact rank of this site at the end of the competition since I was in my Christmas vacation when the contest ended and there was no internet connection in the place.
I am using only a page this time in this contest. This could still be part of my experiment if a page alone can rank against the best seo practitioners with their sites. Again, I know that I can't win in this contest that I cannot build thousands of links to this page. Others just have the time to do it but placing in the top 20 would be again a great finish for me.

Update: 1/21/10 This site has been finally approved by the moderator. It has improved its rank to 36th and I am hoping that this mma pound for pound entry of mine will go up in the coming days.
Update: 1/30/10 I was absent for the last 10 days and has done nothing in this MMA Pound For Pound derby. I went to my home place and there was no internet in there so I was not able to go online and update this site. This is what happened also to my oes tsetnoc entry. I was in a vacation when the contest ended and I have no idea what was the final rank of my entry. Anyway, it seems it will happen again with my entry. I am having some projects in the very near future and I doubt if I could maintain my momentum in updating this site.
As of this writing, my entry is currently in the 26th position despite the long absence I incurred. I have already added 4 blog posts since I returned and according to google webmaster tools, this page has accumulated so far only 2 back links. I will be working a little bit harder in the coming days to catapult this page to the first page :D

Oes Tsetnoc: 4 Days To Go!
There are only 4 days to go for this oes tsetnoc SEO contest. I am still writing here just to update this entry of mine although I already "transferred" many of my back links to Bleuken's entry. In fact, in my new posts in this site, all "oes tsetnoc" (started in my previous oes tsetnoc post) links are now pointing to Bleuken's entry.
This site is still in the 17th spot but I just don't know what will happen to it as I have already withdrawn some links pointing to it. Anyway, no hurts feeling as I am now helping my fellow Filipino to win this contest. After I write this post, I am going to give more links to Bleuken's entry and I hope it would not be too late as the contest is fast approaching to its end.
As of this writing, Bleuken's entry is already in the 6th place. Some of the members of seo.ph are also "donating" links to Bleuken's entry trying to make our countryman in the top 3 or maybe the first place if Bro will grant it :). This is what we call in Filipino as "Bayanihan System" in which every neighbor in the community help one another to achieve a certain goal.

Oes Tsetnoc For Bleuken
Just 6 days to go before the culmination of the oes tsetnoc SEO Contest. As of this writing, the leading Filipino entry is that of Mr. Felixberto Baguyo Jr., or Bleuken, which is in number 7 spot. I already conceded in this contest as my SEO arsenal didn't hold on to keep my entry in the top ten spot and at the same time there are projects that started so I found it hard to maintain my entry.
I see also that there are some entries form other countries that teamed-up in order to win this competition. It is also in that thinking that since I already conceded, I am going to throw my support to the leading Filipino contender, who is Bleuken. I am going to give link to his entry from this blog and my other blogs to help his entry move up to the ladder.
It's a nice experience for me in joining this contest (this is my first time). I found out the weaknesses of my strategies and also their strengths. I also tried to "spy" on the techniques of the other participants and learned a lot from them.
